Istanbul's art pulse, from the narrow streets of historic neighborhoods to the tranquil waterfront mansions of the Bosphorus extends. Tuesday, August 4, before this warm mid‑summer weekend, creating an art route by combining the city's most special cultural spots will be both enjoyable and inspiring. The route starts with the elegant, historic texture of the European side, accompanied by the Bosphorus's enchanting views, reaching the calm yet profound art of the Asian side.

Begin the journey in Beşiktaş, starting from the Selamlik section of Dolmabahçe Palace, where the late Ottoman's aesthetic and European influences are blended. The palace's gilded, intricately carved ceilings, Baccarat crystals and Hereke carpets keep the pages of art history alive. The Treasury (Hazine-i Hassa) within the same complex showcases the refined works, seals and documents of the Ottoman treasury, bearing witness to the aesthetics of governance. These two venues present art not only as paintings or sculptures but as a totality of architectural and decorative arts.

As you head north by Bosphorus ferry or coastal road, the second stop on the route should be Beykoz's historic palace. Beykoz Palace, commissioned by Sultan Abdülmecid in the mid‑19th century, is a building notable for its Bosphorus‑view gardens and woodwork. Today the palace, used for art exhibitions and cultural events, engages in dialogue with contemporary art within its historic ambience. A little further inside, the vast pine forest and neoclassical architecture of Hıdiv Palace's serve as a separate art studio for photographers and landscape lovers.

The route concludes with a sweet pause among the historic waterfront mansions in the shadow of Anadolu Fortress and the famous yogurt of Kanlıca Pier's. This journey demonstrates that experiencing Istanbul's art is not confined to museum walls but is possible by living within the city's itself, amidst its historic sites. On this route, art becomes not a series of stops but the walk itself.
