The Most Beautiful Sunset Points in Istanbul During September Evenings

September is the peak season for watching the sunset in Istanbul. The scorching summer heat is left behind, and the sky transforms into shades of orange and purple, while the city's silhouette takes on a different beauty in the evening. Choosing the right spot to watch the sunset turns an ordinary evening into an unforgettable moment.

One of the first places that comes to mind when it comes to sunset on the Anatolian side is Çamlıca Hill. When you look from the top of Çamlıca, you can see both sides of the Bosphorus, the historic peninsula, and the Princes' Islands in the same frame. As the sun rises over the Marmara Sea, the silhouettes of minarets and bridges appear as a golden trace. Especially on weekday evenings, away from the crowds, you can savor the view while sipping tea.

On the European side, the surroundings of Galata Tower and the terraces of Beyoğlu offer a different atmosphere. From the tower, the evening sun illuminates the domes of the historic peninsula. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, Moda Coast on the Kadıköy side is unparalleled; stretching out on the chairs and watching the sun set over the Marmara Sea is one of Istanbulites' favorite evening routines.

For those seeking a sunset along the Bosphorus, the coastal strip stretching from Beşiktaş to Arnavutköy is magnificent, with its sparkling waters winding between the yachts. Especially in the last rays of the sun hitting the sea around Ortaköy and Bebek, the yacht fronts are painted orange. Even a short evening walk along this line can make you forget the day's fatigue.

Don't forget to bring a thermos of tea, a simit, and a good camera while watching the sunset. In September evenings, the air can cool down slightly after sunset, so a thin sweater is a good idea. And remember: In Istanbul, the sunset should be watched from different hills every evening, not from a single point; because this city tells a different story every day.
